Hey there Gent's,,,I'm considering getting myself a pcp a/g, but with the price differences between the pcp offerings on the market today, and everything else is quite huge, I'd like to get as much information on the benefits of getting into the "Darkside" of airgunning,. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated towards my decision. Thank's, and Cheer's, Andy.

extreme consistancy, highly accurate, many shots per fill, not hold sensitive, easy to work on with most problems being a leaky oring
looking at your list of shooters a pcp will put them all on the back burner. ive seen many people including myself once they get a pcp their break barrels and springers dont get used much and some like myself sell them off for upgrades to the pcp or for awhole new pcp

PCP's are awesome.
The sky is the limit with these. I went over the top with my first PCP.
The Fx was/is to be my last airgun.
I cycle my airguns, so as not to lose the edge. The fx is by far the best and easiest to shoot.
No matter what you go with, once you go darkside, you gonna need to force yourself to shoot the springers.

It's true! Though my springers are nice, I can't bring myself to even look at them anymore. The one under the bed is taking up valuable space, man.

Out of the five I have two are PCPs and I shoot them both still. The three break barrels rarely ever see action especially the magnum ones that are hard to cock. I would agree with the rest that once you go there isn't any going back but get a scuba if you enjoy it. Makes life so much easier and fun. When I work 10 to 12 hours a day there isn't no way I am pumping up a gun 30 to 50 times but with the scuba I shoot quiet a bit.
Reasons why I would rather have a PCP then break barrel.
1. Ease of use, no special artillery holds.
2. Won't go through scopes like break barrels can.
3. If bolt action more follow up shoots, ( Get a bolt action )
4. Can just keep filling up with a tank and shoot all day long and have a blast.
5. Can help with gun shy jerks if gun has no recoil for real powder burners.
6. The PCPs are more accurate then my break barrels.
7. Hunting is nicer when one has quicker follow up shots.
8. Great way to teach non-shooters without the intimidation of hard kicking powder burners.
A. Great way to teach shot placement and accuracy to non-shooters and its importance.
9. Can keep loaded for that random pest in the back yard which one can not do with a break barrel. (As long as it's in a safe place from tampering from the unknowing)
10. Chicks love to shoot em to show they can out shoot us men? lol ( Warning: let them think they can, take a dive, its worth it ) haha
11. Can do competitions if you have them in your area since most are done with PCPs.
12. Last but the most important. If your a shooter and would shoot a lot if you had the opportunity then go with the PCPs. Cheaper in the long run but up front cost are high. Think about how many boxes of .223 you can go through out on the range with that MP5 or whatever.

A little more visual. From a test session today.
Today’s 100 shot tests. 4 good pellets tested, 25 shots per pellet.
4 different pellets, 25 shots per pellet. 100 shots with no "do overs" or "lets not count that one.
Cannot get a springer to do this. could get a CO2 to do it as long as the temperature stayed stable and i shot slow enough not to self-cool...or a MSP if i could get a scope mounted right and an LDC in place...or a SSP if i could get one up to 12 foot pounds..or if someone came out with a "Magnum" version of a FWB300/RWS 75.
AS MENTIONED IN PREVIOUS POSTS
1. Sights are un touched from when it was put away a few weeks ago.
2. No warm up shots.
3. No "do over".
4. Not nearly as dependent on hold as recoiling springers.
Expensive?...no..in fact, its pretty plain jane and even a bit ugly
.177 test gun
As basic a PCP as can be made. Mostly a 2260, HiPac conversion tube, a mystery barrel (that is probably from some RWS or other), a spacer to rise the breech enough to use the fatter barrel, two screw modded trigger, and a bit of smoothing to get it all running uniformly.

besides all the other above mentioned good reasons.........they're just plain cool.
they all have different features. all can be made quiet for the most part, and all that i have seen were easy to shoot and accurate. even the cheaper ones.
can't go wrong if your looking for a fun, accurate (with right pellet), and easy to shoot air gun. from the looks of your list a pcp will fall right in, somewhere

I just saw your air rifle collection of springers and pistons and wow. All those poor guns will just set there and collect dust from non-use I bet and by the count of your air guns I think you are headed into a very expensive addiction, lol.

I was more than hesitant to spend the $350 on one PCP air rifle (the discovery). Once I did and got to shooting it I immediately realized that I had virtually ZERO interest in any other style air rifle power plant anymore. I do enjoy a good pumper still but there is nothing even touching PCP in my opinion. Personally I know that I'll never own a break barrel again as long as I live. My Ruger air hawk got thrown (literally) hard into a closet once I had the disco. The discovery made an absolute mockery out of the Air Hawk I was shooting at the time. Then again a 760 smooth bore did also. Sorry but it's true.
Anyway, back on subject... PCP delivered absolutely everything I was desperately wanting but lacking in a powerful and accurate air rifle. If I hadn't sprung on that Discovery I wouldn't be here telling you this, I was an inch from loosing interest in airguns because of a bad break barrel... true story.

I got real tired of cocking the Break Barrel at the Gun Range for my kid and I. After three hours my arm felt like it needed a sling. Besides that, my Break Barrel needed quite a bit of Trigger work and work on the Cocking arm to get it to be smooth. I ended up returning it and getting a PCP. My PCP has been good out of the box and it's quiet enough to kill Rabbits in the back yard (main reason I got an Air Rifle). The trigger is very nice and it's much more accurate than my break barrel. You can literally watch the pellet hit the target through the scope. No recoil at all. Can't do that with a break barrel.
I'd venture to guess, the only real downside you'll hear about PCP's is the upfront costs. All told I'm into my Mrod for about $1150.00 including the Hill Pump and the Guppy tank from Airtanksforsale.com.
Gun (Mrod): $450.00
Hill Pump: $300.00
Guppy CF Air Tank: $480.00 (by the time you add up all the extra fees)
Total: $1150.00 (plus the cost of a Scope)
