Hatsan Supercharger 25 .177 air pistol - How to remove cocking aid

I have a four year old Hatsan Supercharger in 177. When I bought it new, I dutifully put on the cocking aid which greatly helped while it was breaking in. Now that it is easier, I want to consider other attachments for the barrel end.
I went to unscrew the cocking aid and it turned easily for about two revolutions and then stopped. It's not even close to being off and I am concerned about applying any serious force to help it move.
Am I missing something here? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Just checked my .22 and the aid screws of easily. Maybe there is some corrosion or dirt in the threads? Tried a carefully placed drop of solvent or oil?

Dont put any solvent or lube in it without making sure it wont go down the barrel. If it doesnt just easily unscrew, twist harder. There's probably a good bit of lead buildup in there if it hasnt been off in 4 years.

To keep from damaging it, wrap the piece with tape, then use pliers to loosen it, if you have too. Mine unscrews easily, but it is not as old as yours. Your muscles must have developed pretty well if you no longer need it ! LOL

I'd be interested in knowing how you guys like your Model 25 pistols. I like the Supertact version that comes with the quick release buttstock. But, I haven't bought one.
