Thanks Ed and to be honest, I don't mind one bit that it's not a Vortex. After getting the Spector tuned up and finding how much better it shoots, the Tommy will be easy if or when I need to after I learn the tricks to taking out the Quattro, it really is one very nice rifle and the stock make me want to get one like it for my Mod 95 it's that much nicer.
Webley rifles are made by Hatsan, so considering my Spector fits perfectly in a Striker stock, I have no doubt the 95 will fit in the Webley stock. The rifle is for all intents a rebadged Mod 95 springer with a different muzzle break and stock.Shot cycle is also almost exactly the same even with it being a springer vs my Vortex 95. The better comparison would be my Edge Vortex .22 and the Webley has more power, my Edge averages 755 with H&N FTT's, the Webley averaged 767.As far as converting to a gas ram, I personally don't want to but don't see any reason it can't be done and I'm starting to see a few Webley's advertised as having what they call a D-RAM gas piston which I'm guessing is a Hatsan Vortex rebadged.
Thanks,So I should call Hatsan USA and ask for a replacement Webley Tomahawk stock. If you do do a "tear down" for a tune, please check if the piston had a detent machined into it's rear end.As I am coming to understand, this is very important if you want to "ram it". Good Info let us know what they say...-Y
Thank you very much for writing this up!
It really doesn't have much in the way of kick for a .22 shooting in the 18+ fpe range. My Mod 95 has more and it's a gas ram. Not really hold sensitive either, I've used both the artillery hold and just holding it like a regular rifle and it doesn't seem to matter either way.
Kurt, did you get the $30 Hawke with it? I did when I got my Tommy. A steal for both I thought.
