Hammer spring advice?

Hey guys. I recently installed new o rings and opened the ports of my Brocock Concept .22 caliber. So no leaks at all. The ports before were all 2.5 mm and one 3 mm. I opened them to 4 mm all the way through, less than 75% of bore size still.
So should I have expected a power increase? Chrony said no. In fact I went from averaging low 700's with 21.14gr to low 500's
I may have found a problem though. I can't consistently cock the bolt. It won't engage. It takes a few tries. I seen I accidentally bent the spring on one end.
A question I had was would I benefit from clipping the 2 bent coils and adding shims/washers help? I assume to benefit from the bigger ports, I would need to either strengthen the spring/use stronger one? I tried adding weight (9 grams) to the hammer, no effect.
I believe my hammer spring is too weak now. As it also takes
a lot of extra shots
to empty the tank. Do bigger ports need a stronger spring/heavier hammer to benefit? I was tuning for power and was working until I messed up my spring.
Stock #'s- 670'sw/ 21.14gr
Ports opened to 3mm all the way #’s- low 700's w/ 21.14gr
Ports to 4 mm but messed up spring-
low 500's-mid 500's
depending on hammer screw setting

yes, you should change your spring for a stronger one, don't change your hammer weight. And if you can put or make one, a RVA would be useful.

If the spring is bent, it may be adding drag to the hammer, slowing it and reducing the hammer strike.... Your reduced velocity and greater number of shots to empty the gun indicate a weak hammer strike....

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I figured the spring was the culprit.
