Scope Droop Mount ???"S for RWS 34

My RWS 34 should arrive today. The scope mount has been back ordered.
I asked Pyramyd Air for their mount recommendation and they are sending an RWS Lockdown Mount with barrel droop compensation.
Anyone use this mount? Is it any good?
Jonnyreb suggested the UTC, should I call them back and change the order?

That is a good mount Toby but, the rws guns have a raised rail that comes on the gun for the purpose of scope mounting. The rail has a hole in the top of it thats purpose is for a "stop pin" which is built into your rws mount,, to be extended into the hole so the mount won't slide backwards under recoil. RWS claims.. that the hole isn't for a stop pin, at least on their bigger models(rws 54, 350 etc.) because the stop pin has a habit of gouging into the pin hole, since it's aluminum. The great thing about the utg mount is that it doesn't have a stop pin, rather it uses a "foot" to keep the mount from sliding back. This "foot" is of a perfect design and not only leaves no room for error but will never allow the mount to mess up your gun. Now the 34 does not kick as hard as the larger rws guns so i think this is a moot point but if any other members have thoughts on this they will be welcomed.

The new M34's Have a longer scope rail, and the UTG scope mount will not fit it properly. I know I have one. I did go with the one piece droop comp. mount by BLK model #BLK-260D7 , it has 6 lock down screws for the rail and hasn't moved at all.
Just make sure you get the correct height model if you get the BLK mount

There's a strong possibility you won't need a drooper mount for the 34. Mine doesn't, and I've seen lots of reports by others of the same thing. Not sure of the newer models, but Diana addressed a lot of issues with these new 34's, seems like a good chance they fixed the droop problem. I've heard mixed reviews on the RWS lock down, I'd considered getting one for my 54, but finally got some Weaver rings (Thanks, Scott!) low enough to suit me.
I use the regular Leapers 1 pc. med. mount on my 34, works great and stays put.
Tell you what, I have some "extra" Leapers 1 pc. med. mounts, if you stay with the RWS Lockdown and it doesn't work out for you, I'll swap you one plus cash to make up the price difference for the RWS mount. I'd still like to try one on my 54. Email or PM me once you've got your rifle together if you want to take me up on the offer :-). Later.

Hi Toby,
I hope you like a challenge.
I have the new 34C (Classic) and it differs from previous Diana 34s. The scope rail is longer and the UTG scope mount (DN034) made for the Diana 34, does not fit the new rail. The rail is 1 inch longer and the UTG mount sits too far forward and unless your scope has a longer than normal eye relief the scope will be too far forward.
The new scope rail besides be an inch longer also has two additional stop-pin holes and these holes go all the way through the rail as opposed to the shallow holes found on previous rails. I doubt that these new through and through holes will tear out.
PA sent me UTG Leapers Accushot to try and it doesn’t work really well either. In order to mount it and so the stop-pin will fit in the stop-pin hole the screw at the rear of the rail with the large head must be removed. There really isn’t any problem in removing this screw as it doesn’t hold the rail to the rifle. I can only assume that this screw is intended as a scope stop, but the threaded shaft is rather small and people have reported that it is easily sheared off. The Accushot mount doesn’t have any compensation built in and on my 34C the POI is about 4-5 inches low at 30 yards. That is a lot of elevation to dial into a scope and I would need to shim the rear ring.
I removed the step (ledge) from the DN034 mount and it now fits as it should and the pin-stop and pin-stop-hole line up and I can position the scope for proper eye relief. The problem I’m having is that the compensation that is built into this mount is too much and the POI is about 5 inches high. This mount will require that I shim the front ring.
The POI is with the scope knobs zeroed, done by rotating the knob lock-to-lock and counting clicks and then setting the knob midway. If I get some time today I’m going to shim the DN034 and see how that works. I like the Hawks rings that I bought to go with the DN035 better than the rings on the one piece Accushot. I may, after the holidays, investigate either a set of adjustable rings or a one piece mount like the B-Square (
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/b-square-17501-interlock-adjustable-aa-1-pc-mount-w-1-rings-13mm?a=253
).
Until some company creates a mount for the new 34C, or Umarex starts importing the new mount from Diana, I think adjustable rings are the way to go. I’d really like to find some adjustable quick release rings so the scope could easily be removed so the iron sights could be used. However I don’t want to spend more on a scope mounting system than what I paid for the rifle.

Check out the Hawke HM17021S Adjustable mount. The Weaver rail part is ~7.25 inches long
and it has a "stop" at the front which can be adjusted for height or removed to fit your needs.
It allows you to zero out any droop with minimal scope click elevation adjustments.
The base has four screws to hold it to the rail and it is solid.
AoA has them under Scopes>Hawke>Accessories.

That looks promising and about half the price of the B-Square one-piece adjustable mount. I like that it is a Weaver mount and I could use the rings I already have, and possibly get some quick-release rings in the future. I see that there is also a HM17021 model that is 4” long, but other than Hawke I don’t found a retailer (in the U.S.) that sells it.

You can get the Hawke mount at Airguns of Arizona. The link to their site is...
http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/
Scroll down the left side bar window to Scopes>Hawke>Accessories then scroll
inside the Accessories window to the mount.

Here's a setup I used and it was readily available from P.A. When I heard that brooks was having trouble with his droop compensating mount, I called P.A. and ordered this Leapers Accushot mount. The stop screw in the 34's scope rail works great to keep the mount from slipping.
I must be one of the fortunate ones in that my gun had no barrel droop. I took a chance it wouldn't and ordered this Leapers mount instead of the droop compensating one.
Actually, the gun did have "barrel droop" but I took two Viagra pills and dissolved them in two tablespoons of water. I then soaked numerous patches in the solution and ran them through the barrel until they came out clean. I'm not sure how long this will last, but there was a warning on the pill bottle that if the gun barrel stayed erect for more than four hours I am to call a gunsmith
.
