Got my QB79 from Airgun Depot. Will put up a noob review then, but wanted to say how impressed I am out of the box. Already looking at how to raise the funds to convert to HPA
So... this is the darkside? Where's my cookies?

Qb's have got to be the best airguns around to modify and play with. You will be tinkering in no time, have fun!

Yeah. Already have plans. Have a new transfer port and bolt probe. Just trying to wait until I get a chrony so I can plot and gauge the improvement. Don't know if I can wait that long though.

Good call, a chrony is definitely essential if you want to find the best tune for your guns. You may have to take your rifle apart a few times to get it right but that's all part of the fun. Did you get a .177 or .22? Either way be sure to try JSB's if you have any on hand. They shoot very well out of all my Qb's.

I got the 22. Easier to load with my mangled hands. I think I have a couple tins of JSB's sitting around. Haven't tried them yet. My CPHP is all I used so far (gotta get rid of some of the 16 tins I have of them). But once I get the chrony and get to the range, the JSB's will be broken out.

Besides high dollar custom guns my QB 78 with basic power mods and polishing up of parts is ten times the gun of many higher priced guns break Barrels and pcps out there. All for 100 bucks. Out of the box accuracy wise is as good as any and better than most. Basically all of the so be hot shot pcps would,nt be here if it weren,t for the QB,s. It's Friday got home having a hi ball and watching the news about our political choices and have a bad attituded. Will never by another gun but a Q B from here on out. Have fun with yours. Pretty hard to screw one up. This forum is a great thing with its resources available. Bob and others really know their stuff a go above and beyond to help us dumb s!!!s. Wolfer

The Crosman transfer port gasket is a perfect replacement for the factory seal. That alone added 40fps to my .177 Qb79.

The crossmann trans gasket to me is a no brainer. No measuring, cutting and can be reused. Wolfer
