The carbine is more powerful than most 25 cal airguns so it should do very good with the 43 gr pellets.

Don't get me hyped up with words like "POWERFUL" Norman LOL...really, I'll be good with the 43's? I want as much knock down as I can get with it, forget shot count. Over the years I've noticed I only get a few good shots during a hunt anyway so, I'd like to make them count (pun intended)
Darrell, I have a new Bug Buster as well as a Barska both are 3-9xThese are light weight and short, great for a carbine or bullpup. I put the Barska 3x9-42 mm IR on my Cricket .35/9mm and works great. The Bug Buster is on my PRod Woods Walker and is fantastic. 3x9-32 mm.UTG 3-9x32 AO Compact CQB Bug Buster Rifle Scope https://www.pyramydair.com/product/utg-3-9x32-ao-compact-cqb-bug-buster-rifle-scope-illuminated-mil-dot?a=4222------------------------------------------------------BARSKA 3-9x42 IR 2nd Generation Sniper Riflescop William

I believe I'll be taking some mid to semi - long range shots with the 2500 so I wanted a little more magnification. I definitely considered your suggestion at length though

Also, they are all etched glass. The prices are dropping these days. There is a AIM 3-12x50 FFP for $130 at Amazon.http://tinyurl.com/qgw9zos
I have never used a First Focal plain Scope,,, maybe my next purchase will be one, the only thing I hate about my AG's that I have now is they are heavy and I have scopes that are 6-24x 56 mm and they are outstanding, but they weigh more than I do lolI don't want a 2 to 3 pound scope on a 7 to 8 pound gun, so if the next time I need a scope I will have to find a first focal plain scope that is light weight. I wish they would stop making AG's so heavy, its not needed as far as I can see! They can build a Powder Burner in a .308 that weighs 6 lbs but cannot seem to keep a good AG under 10 lbs. Anyway, Thanks Norman for the link on the scope.Darrell, good luck with that Sumatra, hope you get a good lightweight scope for it as well.William

It's not pellet picky at all from what I've seen so far. You may have to adjust your scope to compensate. That's another good thing about the power adjuster...lighter pellet, lower power. Heavier pellet, higher lever. I had to throttle mine back a bit because I was destroying my fence when the pellet was passing through squirrels & slamming into the fence slats. I even bent the bullseye spinner on my Steelplinkers Quad target from shooting it too hot. I run it at about 1/2 power for shooting squirrels at 25-30yds with Hunter Extremes.
