This friend of mine lives in Arlington Heights, IL. Not sure if that's considered Chicago or not - don't think so. But as far as the vendor goes, it was Pyramyd Air - not exactly newcomers to shipping airguns. But it was a .22 and it does shoot over 700fps so I'm guessing they're either correct or playing it real safe.I too was surprised at all the states/munies banning slingshots. I always wanted a nice slingshot as a kid. I made my own out of a forked stick and an old inner tube. Thinking back on all the trouble I caused with that thing I guess I'm fortunate my parents wouldn't buy me one. I bought both my boys fine slingshots when they were very young and they never used them - go figure.

Not too far from me I might add. Second, you can have AG shipped that shoot over 700 fps or over .18 they just must be shipped to a vendor and held with a background Check. Some places do ship regardless of the laws. Mainly the smaller operations. You must have a foid card to have the gun shipped to you and that must be verified by the vendor that you are having the gun shipped to. They are correct in not shipping it. It is a statewide thing not just applying to those cities and counties. It not worthy big time. Me and cliffhanger may have to start an airgunners against the Illinois congress group lol. Anyone wanna join
So,... just how much crime is actually being commited using air guns ? Has the cost of 9 mil ammo gone up so much that gang bangers started carrying pellet guns now ? Paul
Slingshot ammo restricted? How do you restrict rocks?
THE TREAD HAS WRONG INFORMATION FROM PUERTO RICO.THERE IS NOT Blank guns and blank ammo RESTRICTIONS.That kind of guns (8mm and 9mm) and ammo are on sale and in displayat every shopping mall in Puerto Rico.GERALD
Your friend needs to find a new vendor.IL law is clear on the subject. However, it seems that airgun sellers just pluck disclaimers from other sellers, and copy/paste.The restriction is located within the FOID card act. 700 fps AND .18 cal or larger, not OR. Meaning .177 of any velocity is fine, as is .22 slower than 700. Even then, with a valid FOID card, he can have anything. Those restrictions listed pertaining to foregrips are remnants of those local codes some towns had regarding "assault weapons" from long ago and have nothing to do with airguns. Most of those codes were reversed after McDonald vs. the City of Chicago awhile back, after the NRA filed suit in every town with laws like that. Most towns erased the codes, rather than fight. Good vendors understand that IL law doesn't apply to them if they aren't in IL, due to that pesky little U.S. Constitution thing. Having said that, if he lives in Chicago, Aurora, or Cook county, then he needs to move. They don't recognize the Constitution in those countries. We've been trying to vote them out of the state, but haven't had much success so far. Stephen
