A rifle is like a woman. The longer you work with them, the more comfortable you become with them. You learn their little nuances, and either adjust to them and have a winner, or get rid of them and get a new one. No rifle or woman is perfect, so you have to have reasonable expectations for both. Just the ramblings of lifelong shooter and 43 years of being with the same woman.
Don't overlook the XS48U with a gas ram conversion and full tune by Mike. It's a fixed barrel underlever that eliminates the cons of a break barrel. I think it can be had in .22 as well. As was mentioned, call Mike and tell him what you want and your budget.... you won't find a better guy to talk to and deal with. We love our XS60C PCP guns but, you have to consider the extras.... pumping is not for everyone.

My .22 46U will put a pellet through both sides of a tin can at 50 yds. The 28 is quite a bit more powerful than that. Plus, a fully tuned 46 is $200, leaving you plenty for a decent scope, if you so desire.
