Unlike the ones that are attached to the barrel that are made of plastic. They have been out a while and there are quite a few posts on them here if you search. Mostly good reports on the rifle but the packaged scope & rings are pretty low quality and don't hold up well. If you purchase the combo package figure on replacing or upgrading the scope in short order.
A friend of mine has one & we enjoy shooting it. Very quiet compared to other airguns I have shot & pretty accurate right out of the box. Recoil is less that a standard Mod. 95, so the scope may last a little longer.
I'm thinking being built in is something new as the 87 QE i have has a metal shrouded barrel and the ones I'm seeing at PA and AGD both show the barrels being shrouded also. Got me wondering how much of a difference between the 2.....
I've never used the included Optima scopes or rings, I have 4 or 5 sitting here somewhere in a box. I did a lot of reading and researching before I bought my 95 and all the reviews said those scopes were iffy at best and to consider either ordering a better scope when ordering the rifle or plan for one later so I ordered a Hawke when I ordered the rifle. Did the same thing with the other 10 I own.My 87 QE is in .177 and just as accurate as all the rest I own. Averages anywhere from 898 to 923 fps, ES from 8 to 11 and an SD of 2 to 3 depending on what pellets I shoot. Still seems a bit on the loud side but I put that down to the echo in the hollow synthetic stock against my ear when shooting. If it was in a wooden one, I'd guess the report when firing would be a lot less but still a real nice rifle.
Only rifle/scope bundle I've ever gotten that the scope was actually a good one was my Umarex Fuel .22 and the 3-9x32 scope it came with. I've had it on 3 different rifles now, all gas rams and springers and it's held up great for almost 2000 shots. Only reason I finally stopped using it was wanting bigger scopes and those 3 rifles now all have Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 AO IR scopes on them.I'm lucky I guess and have had very good luck with all my 6 of my Hatsan springers and gas rams and the 4 Webley's (3 Tommy's and a Spector) which are also made by them.
Sorta true but the Hawke 2-7x32 AO IR scopes weren't actually included with the rifles, just a seriously sweet discount on them if you wanted to add one. I got one in .22 when they were $169.99 and added the scope for another $29.99, then when they had the blowout sale, I picked up the .177 for $99.99 and added the scope for $35, normally $100+ scopes so it was a no brainer. I picked up a third in .22 from fellow member Geoffrey_K although he kept the scope he added to his when he bought it. Very nice rifles in my book and money well spent although if I had the cash, I'd turn one into a .20. With a .20 cal barrel threaded for 1/2-20 UNF like the .177 and .22 are so I could screw whatever moderator I wanted on the end, I think it would make for a very sweet shooting rifle.
My Hatsan Mod 95 Vortex QE (.22 cal) Air Rifle Combo is ordered, shipped and should be here Wednesday. Should have had this two weeks ago but Fields Supply reneged on being able to order me one. Learned a valuable lesson with them. So I went somewhere else.Hope I have good luck with Midway since this is my first gun order from them.
Just curious, how did Field Supply reneg? Out of stock?...won't ship to your location? I've bought several AGs from them and had no problems so far.
