Maximum Penetration values were hampered by the fact that I wasn't shooting to seek penetration in the first place or I would have done it different. But what I did do though, was put almost all of my shots in a 1 1/2" area of my "backstop" which consisted of two 500 page herman wouk hardcover novels and two 300 page work books taped up in cardboard, with two 300 page plus manuals stuffed behind them and beyond that, approximately 4" of ply.
I found a big ball of lead protruding out of the hardcover novels and extending into the first flight manual, roughly 4" of penetration. Those bullets that missed the ball all exited the first box and one of the conicals made it to page 205 of the manual behind it for about 7 to 7 1/2" of overall penetration. This has piqued my interest and I'm going to do this again with specific obstacles for each bullet. They all did well making it through the hard cover books pretty much. For soft lead, this is actually impressive. The conicals that didn't hit lead on the way, were impressive as well.
The recovered lead bullets are the 129 conical on the left, JSB Diablo Center and Air Venturi round ball on the right... and even they stood up pretty well.
I'll redo this test with some other dedicated targets for penetration this weekend if I can get my air tank filled so to top off. This was all done at 3000 psi. I'd like to try it also with a little higher pressure to take better advantage of the improved valve.
So there it is so far...

Took my tank down to get filled and RATS..... needs a hydro... maybe a week to get it back... so.... penetration testing will have to wait some.
Also looking at a different barrel options... talked to TJ's and Taylor... any thoughts on twist?
Aloha,
Tom
