2250 barrel on 2240

Well I received my barrel Saturday, (2250) for my 2240 pistol , and waited till I shot out the cartridge that was in the tube. It was a pretty straight forward change over, as I have never done one before. The only real modification I did was I drilled the plastic breech where the barrel sits inside the breech and and tapped it for 8-32. I used a 8-32 screw to snug the barrel down a bit and moved the barrel band back about an inch from where the factory had it. It tightened up the barrel fairly well. I know it is not like a steel breech, but I kind of took that idea from it and figured it would not make it any worse. The barrel does not flex like it used to now. I don't know if any one else has done this, but it is a low buck mod to tighten the barrel, and I thought I would pass it on here. Just be careful of the hole placement, and do not tighten the screw real hard. all it needs is to be snug.

Very good sir. I'd like to go with a 10 or 14 inch barrel on my 2240. Also, thinking about a prod trigger group.
I've lightened the sear spring, installed polished sear and polished the stock trigger. Still not worthy.
I took it out in the back yard yesterday. I can't believe it still was gassed. It's been a couple of months since it was out. It's my wife's gun. I have a couple of single stroke pneumatics but she can't manage them. *(&^ I barely can.

I ordered the barrel through crosman it was less than $15 + $4 shipping. Straight forward swap. the front sight fits off the 2240 barrel . I put a NC Star pistol scope on it. After I put that set screw in the breech it tightened it up quite a bit.
