Pumping my 1377 converted to a 1322, with a flat top piston (single o ring) is not quite as smooth as I've seen in certain YouTube videos. In these videos, the guys talk about using silicone grease in the tube. I cannot find "divers silicone grease" in my local stores, but Danco makes a silicone grease. It is made to be applied to o rings. So I think it should work fine. Anyone ever tried it? It costs only a few bucks at home depot, and the container is a reasonable size, so I just wonder why I haven't heard anyone talk about it....

Only difference is that diver's grease is food grade. Plumber's grease isn't.
You should use oil, not grease, though. Oil will pass through the valve. Grease will hang up in there, and, attract grunge that can mess up the valve internals.
Also, silicone is not for metal to metal lubrication. If you're hung up on using grease, use white lithium grease, instead.

I use the Danco grease from the hardware store to lube the valve o rings of my 392 to facilitate installation/removal, but I oil the pump cup and pivots to minimize wear. What longhunter said has been my experience too; if I use too much grease and pull the valve out/install it a couple of times (which lets the grease get in front of the valve), the pump pushes grease into the valve and it can be a bit of a mess in there later. It is easy to clean up and a little bit doesn't hurt the valve at all, but unlike oil grease probably would hurt accuracy if it starts to move into the barrel.
I also recommend oil for a weekly lube.

I got the chance to really try out the flat top this morning. I had shot it a few times inside, but nothing at any distance. I started out with a 2240 and a 1377, then switch the barrels to make a 1740 and a 1322. I really like this setup better! They both shoot 500-550 fps. They both cost about $0.02 /shot.
The 1322 is a powerhouse. The pumping smoothed quite a bit with some use. I actually thought that it came out of adjustment, because it was easy to pump ten times, easier than the stock gun even. But it sure is much more powerful at ten pumps. I shot a coke bottle at 10 yards and the pellet cut through the threaded portion and exited out the bottom of the bottle! The 2240 would only penetrate one side of a coke bottle if it hit just right, so I know I'm seeing velocities well over 500 fps with the 1322 now with the FTP/V. Btw, I adjusted the piston so that it hits the valve when the pump arm is 5/8" from closing. I know 3/4" is what most people recommend, but I feel that is a hair too much because it requires more effort than what I think it should take to close the pump arm.
I am pretty content with the pistols now, but will try things to help improve accuracy. The 1740 is a great target pistol and the 1322 has become my garden defender and camping buddy.

Any 30 wt oil will do. I have used chain saw bar oil no prob and air compressor oil with no problems either.
