Open sight groups were also looking good, but then the rifle stared shifting POI by a couple of inches at 22 yards. I tightened all the screws, sight screws, etc. and continued with no improvement. I'll check things out in more detail later today. I was starting to think this bargain air rifle was going to be a winner but now, I have some doubts.Tight groups,Bob
I would so like to have a .20 cal springer in this weight/length and power range. But I watched a vid and that's a pretty loud twang goin on there.Too bad they didn't have the gas piston in them. I'd of already snatched one up.

I was lacking something in .20 caliber, so this rifle fills the bill, for now.Tight groups,Bob
Bob, Which model of Williams peep sight are you using?
Does it look like either of these?
Has anyone chronographed their Valuemax .20? I put five shots over the screens yesterday and found, despite all the sound and fury, the rifle is launching Benjamin 14.3gr. cylindrical pellets at an average of 660 fps. It does so very consistently though. I can't remember what the standard deviation was, but it was quite low. Tight groups,Bob
The action on mine while not that twangy isn't all that bad, most of the noise is the echo when firing in that hollow stock, which I still need to fill although I may still buy a Striker stock and modify the inside like the synthetic stock has for that small bearing on the cocking arm.I posted a thread on chrony numbers but to save everyone looking, here's the pellets tried and numbers I got with mine. I got H&N FTT's and a tin of their Spitzkugel pellets a week or so ago but the weather hasn't been cooperating for me to get out and test them yet.-H&N Baracuda 13.58gr: Average 748, High 761, Low 742, ES 19, SD 5-Benjamin Dome 14.3gr: Average 706, High 719, Low 687, ES 32, SD 9-JSB Exact 13.73gr: Average 763, High 767, Low 759, ES 8, SD 2-Predator Polymag 13gr: Average 742, High 749, Low 735, ES 14, SD 4The JSB's so far have the edge in accuracy but all 4 shoot very nicely at least in mine. I'll post the numbers when I finally get to test the FTT's and Spitzkugels.
The Valuemax is basically a Hatsan Edge/Striker/1000 just with a .20 cal barrel and those and the Hatsan Model 95 use the same piston seal which can be gotten from either ARH or Vortek.http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/catalog/item/251485/10055863.htmhttp://vortekproducts.com/ourstore/Airgun_piston_breech-seals/Hatsan-95-Piston-Seal
