What size are those coming in at? Im looking for heavier slugs for my ace .25. I tried my rat snipers today but they scatter gunned. They slid right through the magazine. Im thinking I have a 252-253 barrel. I saw the pictures of them but for some reason I cant find the post again.
Nick, do you make a .252 with a boat tail?
For .25 caliber I recommend the 49 grain flat nose slugs from Hunters Supply. The accuracy is absolutely great! I don't even want to think about the hundreds of dollars I have spent on cast & swaged slugs in the last couple years...but in my Sumatra long rifle these shoot the very best, are priced the best, and are very accurate even on my highest power setting. These yield 119.98 ft. lbs. energy and give me 3/4" groups at 25 yards, and 1" to 1 1/2" groups at 50 yards every time. They are sized to .251 and therefore fit just snugly in the bore without having to force them. They also fit in three out of my four magazines without sliding out of the back, which can cause the action to jam when cocking. And last but not least, they will shoot great out of a standard factory barrel without the need for the leade to be lengthened by a gunsmith.I added a picture of the Hunters Supply flat nose and the hollow points below, where you will notice that these slugs have a small drive band near the base that is the only part engaged by the rifling in your barrel...this keeps drag to a minimum and that is real good. As opposed to the swaged slugs that look like bullet shaped sinkers that are better used for fishing with rubber worms...that have the entire length of the sides of the slug engaged in the rifling causing all kinds of problems.I spent a lot of time and money trying to find slugs that are as consistently accurate and reliable as these, so I do recommend you try them out! And these cost just $.10 cents each, versus $.25 cents or even $.50 cents each for slugs that aren't accurate at all.
