I have about 100 rounds thru the new venom. I had to take the stock off to do a good initial clean -- I lubed the joints that looked like they needed -- but one thing I didn't touch was the piston rod and/or piston itself -- Should the piston rod or ram be lubed at all? The cheesy manual that came with it said to put 1 drop into the compression chamber... Since I will need to take the stock back off for the trigger upgrade, I would like to lube the entire works properly -- I removed a lot of oil oil & dried grease, or was that stuff there as part of the assembly process?
The old references to adding oil to the chamber, was more for the leather seals that get used on some Crosman models.
