Modding my 2240 while trying to tighten groups is super fun! I'm wondering if you'll be like me - sometimes longing for the good old days when it was OEM stock and functioned smoothly, and shot dime-sized groups all day. My next mod will probably be brass power adjusters for my 2240 carbine and 2300KT. And to satisfy my longing for a stock 2240, I might just order one from Walmart or Amazon Prime (whichever is cheapest.). Three 22/23xx -- am I addicted to CO2 AGs or what?
Finally got some time to put the bug buster on. It's an unbelievable scope! 3-9x32 AO. choice of 36 different colors for the mil dot reticle and adjustable brightness. this is by far the nicest scope I've owned.
No, you are correct. I was thinking along the lines when I made the purchase "compact scope, compact gun, they should go together". Didn't do my research here as I should have. But after mounting it, and noticing I did have to hold the pistol quite close to my face to get a decent "picture" (explains a lot of why those first 3 shots I took are kind of all over the place) I tried something I have read here on the forum. While holding the gun a comfortable distance from my face, and shooting with both eyes open, not just my right eye open keeping my left eye closed, as I've always done, it helped tremendously. Took some getting used to as you can tell by my shots at the bullseye weren't perfect, I was making adjustments to the scope as well. But after getting off 3 shots I was pretty comfortable with using the both eyes open technique I decided to take the shots at the corners of the red triangle areas. I was amazed at the accuracy! The gun, the scope, the technique just all seemed to go together, doesn't happen too much for me. The only other pistol I have is a PC77 which I mounted a compact dot sight to, never shot a pistol with a scope before. Having both eyes open cleared up the focus for me while being able to keep the pistol much farther from my face than when I started. All my rifles are scoped, but have always used just my right eye for sighting. Seemed to help me shoot much more calmly without having to squint my left eye shut. Can't remember where/who the post was from about doing this. Know it was here on GTA, and whoever it was, thanks much. I'm a much better shot because of it.P.S. that 2240 is frickin' awesome!
Nice looking build, the grips are beautiful. Looks like a great shooter as well.
