It's here... My D48 B arrived. I've had a chance to inspect it, and shoot about 60 pellets through it. The best thing I have to say about the whole situation is; at least it got delivered to the right address...

Picked up a Hatsan Striker Edge .22 cal from AirgunPro.com for $69.
It's here... My D48 B arrived. I've had a chance to inspect it, and shoot about 60 pellets through it. The best thing I have to say about the whole situation is; at least it got delivered to the right address...Well the return seems to be no hassle. Airguns of Arizona has earned my next purchase. Here's what the problem was...When I got the delivery It actually arrived at my house which is something UPS hadn't been able to manage until today. So things were looking up. When I first saw the box I couldn't help but notice the boot/shoe prints paced down the the length of it. In both directions. It's as though they used my package as some sort of gang plank. Just sloppy, and careless handling. The usual for UPS. Now I still had hope because AoA double boxes their stuff; however the Diana box inside the large box was creased in two spots. About toe to heel apart. See where this is going? Also the rear sight was driven through the Diana box... Oh well. I don't collect the boxes; I was just hoping the rifle was alright. So out to the shooting bench I went. Took a shot. I didnt hit anything. So I though I must be shooting to high, or too low. A few more shots high, and low later; and still no hits. Keep in mind this is only a 60'. So now I'm really wondering where the heck the pellets are going. So I aim a a big pine trunk about 18" wide. Pull the trigger, and still nothing!? By now I five figured out that it must need some side adjustment. So I move the rear sight to the left more, and more and, more till I ran out of adjustment. Only at the left most position will the gun hit on center at 30'; which is where I tested on my target to dial in the side to side adjustment. Even then it could have used a click or two... Needless to say when I tried stretching that out to 100' it was obvious it was never going to happen. Even if I just scoped it. I suspect that whatever nimrod decided to use my package for a gangplank bent my barrel...I was really disappointed. On the plus side Airguns of Arizona was awesome about the whole ordeal. Their sending UPS to pick up the rifle tomorrow; and are sending me a new one which should be here Monday. That's excellent service in my book! The real bummer is that this rifle had waaaay more consistent chrony numbers than the D34p I ordered my son. And shot tighter groups too. Too bad UPS botched it again...

And the finish is a black stain, according to AoA. However it feels more like paint. The example I received was a little thin in spots; but not enough to worry about. AoA has been incredible about the whole situation. UPS is the party the damaged a "dang" fine rifle...It's great that AoA is making it right for you! I just looked the black 48 up on their site and noticed that it's actually a wood stock. How was the "coating" on the rifle? Was it a paint or more of a bedliner type of finish? I wrongly assumed it was a plastic stock when I read your original post. I wonder if your gun will end up on their used page? I've accidentally bent barrels myself, so now if I saw one at the right price with a bent barrel i'd probably consider it ;-)
