Sufficient Internal Adjustment for Scope on Break Barrel Springer?

The selection of better springer rated scopes in the $400-$600 range isn't large. Hawke, Sightron, Bushnell, Clearidge come to mind-know I missed a few. With many of these the amount of internal adjustment is rather meager. The Bushnell's I looked at on line were only around 26 MOA. The Clearidge I think was 40 MOA, the Sightrons were from 40-60 MOA depending on model. The Hawke tactical was 80 MOA. but very heavy. If shooting a break barrel like an R9 in .177, or HW 97K underlever at 50 yards and using a one piece mount/rings with 20 MOA built into it, what would be considered a reasonably adequate amount of internal adjustment in the scope so as not to run out of elevation adjustment or to have to adjust for elevation well beyond the center of the scope? I understand the downside to having to use most of the adjustment range to get on target vs being able to sight in near the center of the adjustmet range. The 26 MOA doesn't seem sufficient to me but I'm just guessing. No question the 80 MOA would be great. What about the 40-60 MOA scopes?
