Quite frankly the only thing that keeps me buying Crosman pellets nowadays is the ~$6 sales on 500ct tins that come up from time to time. I won't buy them at the ~$9 price any more. Back in the 2012 - 2013 time frame, the odds were pretty decent that I would get a good tin and maybe 1 in 10 would qualify as a great match to one of my rifles. By good I mean consistently 1/2" groups at 25 yards (~2 MoA) with a PCP, and by great I mean 1 MoA consistently at 25 yards and dime groups at 43 yards with a freak sub-MoA group mixed in here and there.
Peter, it's interesting you are seeing multiple distinct groups. I have noticed the same thing on several occasions and brought it up on GTA a few times but so far I think you are the only person to confirm it.
...Glad I'm not alone on this subject.
My letter was received and answered by Crosman this morning. They replied sorry--- we would like you to have a tin of 500 and have shipped them today @ no charge. The long and detailed letter sent on company letterhead by me didn't ask for anything but a response explaining if this is to be expected from their product and if that is the case it will preclude any further investment in crosman prodicts of any kind! Any kind!!I run a business and write leverage letters often. It was fairly eloquent and persuasive. All truth, noanipulation.I don't expect better quality. I'll probably give them away, they won't hit the barrel if they don't measure!Amazon may be gettin some stream of rejects as bad as the QC was! On purpose!I inquired about the boxed pellets, no longer avail.Too badGlad I'm not alone on this subject.
