I just obtained a Model 342 and was wondering if they were brass. The one I have is shiny brass with brass inlay in the stock. It does shoot, I want to restore to original condition, but not sure what that would be.

I have a 312. Lots of people shine them up and think they've restored them when they've actually ruined the value, although their not worth much anyway. The original black finish is best, but then if you like it better all shined up that's great too. Mine has an original finish that's kinda mottled. I think it's a 1963 if I'm remembering right. Shoots nice but I don't much like pumping. Does easily break in two for transport.
