1077 tuning?
«

I bought a refurb for my wife in hopes she would take an interest in the shooting sports. (My NitroPiston rifles are too heavy for her to enjoy.)
I ran a few pellets across the chrony today, and watched the power really fall fast after about 20 to 25 shots.
Is there any tuning that can be done to improve this gun? The trigger pull weighs more than the gun, a pack of powerlets, and a case of pellets. Not to mention the creep that goes on for days.
I saw where some had delrin barrel stabilizers, but it seems the source is no longer available.
And is anyone still making Power Source adapters?

The power source adapters have shown up on eBay from time to time. You need to know if your end cap is the newer fine thread or the older coarse thread. If it is new 1077 it probably is the fine thread.

Heres the ebay link. jrfan
You can just go on ebay and search Crosman 1077 and find them.

Check the crosman forum out.......
Bad news is, there is not really a whole lot...best I remember. I think I read where you can cut the hammer spring down some, but there could be a power loss in doing that. Go slow, you might get some off of it.
The 1077 is what it is really. Fun, underpowered gun for folks with strong fingers.... its a revolver, so the DA contributes to that rough trigger. Light pellets will give you more realistic feedback, as far as time to target. Really shouldnt be used as a hunter past 20 yds......
I seem to recall ~ 50-60 shots per cart..... do you think power dropped cause you were shooting fast? Or did the whole cart just die?
Stabilize the barrel and its a fun gun for fastER target shooting, or plinking out to 30 yds. Put a cheap crosman 4x scope on it, and they are decently accurate.
for a fun gun...fun meaning to me "hit what I aim at" I'd check out a 953 or a B-12 from Mike.
God bless,
Farmer

It could be the cheap (non-Crosman brand) CO2 carts that were causing the rapid depletion of "fire" power. I know results would have been better in hotter weather (although winter here, this year, is much warmer than the one we experienced for the last two years).
I keep hoping that PA will get the TF-39s they've been waiting on forever.
