Colors for Sights of 1377 and 2240

I noticed tonight, while shooting my 1377 at my Gamo targets, that I tend to lose the front sight blade and the sides and top edge of my rear sight against the black target when using a 6 O'clock hold on the white 9 and X rings. My eyes aren't good enough anymore to see the X ring from even 7 yds (progressive trifocals), so I need to make my sights stand out more against the black. I'm thinking a gold or brass colored testor's paint for the front blade and a red for the notch and top edges of the rear sight.
What do you all who have used the 1377 or 2240 in our 10 meter pistol shoots think about this idea? It should help me to define the position of that front blade.
Thanks much.

I like white on my sights, white on the back of the blade, and a pair of white dots on the rear site

I'd go with the tried & true & tested red or orange up front, and a green on the rear, or visa versa, using bright shades of each. Before you paint, use primer first perhaps - Some paint doesn't fare well on some black without a primer. Primer & white paint always make outer coat brighter. I'd use a flat/matte finish (no gloss).
Another thing; that Testors paint is pricey if I remember correctly - About $4 per tiny bottle? Any spray can paint can be brushed on if you spray it in some sort of container.

A little dot of liquid paper on the back of the front sight blade has helped me in the past. It don't last forever, but is easily touched up occasionally.

I put bright yellow paint on the back of my front sight and my shooting improved. I then put a red dot sight on the gun and shooting improved even further. Anything that helps you sight in on the target works for me.
