Gents,
Thanks to everyone's knowledge, advice and guidance! Just finished the chamber cross-hatch, JM piston seal, J&B on the bore, and touched up the crown and breech. A few shots fired through it tonight. Tomorrow, scope install and here we go....keeping the fingers crossed...
-I have a good feeling though. That crown and breech sure are pretty.....
any thoughts on how many shots for it to settle back down?

YUT YUT!! Git some topp! welcome to the GTA, your going to probably shoot a full tin (250) before it burns off all the extra lube and settles down. You will notice that all the &^^& in the compression chamber gets blwon down the barrel, so you will have to clean it again to get the most out of it after you run 100 or 200 shots through it. It depends on how liberal you were with that molly paste. if you frosted a cake, then it will never burn off, if you did the "less is more" application, you should be good to go after about 100 rds. let us know how your benji turns out. BTW, are you pendleton local? I work at the shotgun/pistol range on base.

Thanks, guys!
So far, so good....POI has changed a bit, but I am not too concerned about it at this point. LOVE that GRT trigger. I have about 20 pellets through it this morning (cold snap for NC). I was gentle with the moly (well, at least I think I was ?), so after some serious shooting today I am hoping it settles down nicely. I am looking at trying some of the JSB match jumbo or some of the heavier H&N's. Right now I need to shoot some of the pellets I have....last look nearly 9 tins of .22. Some shooting is in order!
-BrewerJA, just checked back into Maintenance Bn at Camp Lejeune....last duty station for me!!

my first tune i had piece of sponge on end of dowel with what i thought was a very conservative amount of Honda moly paste...swabbed the whole compression tube all the way to the transfer port...this is totally compatible with a highly respected airgun authority*...had the gun almost completely reassembled b4 i noticed the piston on its initial trip into the tube had pushed a scary large amount of moly out the transfer port like out of a toothpaste tube...but i didn't let it worry me, cleaned up around the port, made sure the first few shots were with the heaviest pellet i had (~18grain), wasn't loud at all, excess moly cleared out quickly, not a big deal, no excessive dieseling, gun stabilized over a few tens of shots at most. But on follow-up tunes, i Have used Alot less moly.
But frankly my personal experience has not borne out Jeremiads about moly in the compression chamber.

Was I warned about how much Airguns can consume a person?
*GEEZ*
well, after an additional crown filing and lapping with J&B, both my RS2 and my Trail NP's groups have improved drastically. With RWS superdomes, the Trail was able to produce a 6 shot group with four shots touching, and additional shots within 1/4", best ever!
-doesn't hit nearly as hard as the RS2, now I wish I would have bought the Trail XL...
Thanks again for everyone's advice/help!
