Steroid valve preference for 392?

For a Benjamin 392, does anyone know if the 1991-1995 soldered valve or the 1995-1997 cartridge valve is preferred for the steroid tune?

I believe it can be done on both types of valves. I think the reason the earlier style Benji's in general are prefered is because they have the quality Sheridan/Benji pump arm and linkage and not the cheap Crosman part. I'm not 100% positive as I don't have a steroid rifle. I just know if you send him a newer 392 he says "make sure that it's worth the steroid upgrade." He doesnt make an inaccurate 392 shoot more accurately, he makes them shoot stronger. So if you have one of those 392 with the barrel that isn't soldered centered to air tube, don't send it. If it just can't shoot a bulls eye from any distance no matter the pellet or how much you've cleaned the muzzle end of overspray, don't send the rifle.

Thanks yes, I know he can do either, I was just asking if one of the valve types was preferable, i.e. made better power or had an advantage in some way over the other. And yes, accuracy is a must regardless of valve config.

Well, the advantage of the soldered in valve are the 2 springs inside the valve body as opposed to the cartridge valves that have a single spring. I have a 392PA that I did the 2 spring mod. This will make pumping easier on the first several pumps. Makes pump 3 fell like the original first pump before doing the upgrade. It has fps benefits, but I don't have a chrony to have numbers. On penetration test before and after was significantly greater. Here is a link with a couple links to show you what I'm talking about.
