2100/AM77 barrel removal

How much of a process is it to remove the barrel? I have an am77 refurb that isn't very accurate out of the box. It's seems to vary...sometimes it's dead on for a several shots, then other times not so much
It could be that it just doesn't like the rws supermags I'm using I suppose, or the cheap scope that was included, but I would like to do the tape mod on the barrel to keep it from moving around inside the shroud, because I'm thinking this may be the problem? Im Just worried about putting it all back together!
I'm going to order a few different types of pellets and maybe try a different scope
What do you guys think? The crown looks ok and I have shot about 200 pellets through it

It's pretty easy to remove the barrel and tape up breach and muzzle end for a tight fir. It's one improvement that you should do. Getting the reciever back together with the BB follower spring intact requires 3 hands and some luck, but it isn't impossible - I've done it once. The second attempt proved to be frustrating so I just left it out, besides i will never fire BBs down the rifled barrel. Check out this long and informative thread... and search for Crosman 2100 anywhere on the internet and you'll get more than an evening's reading.

Lot of great photos on the web of the insides of the 2100/AM77 and 2200 which is very similar. When I take mine apart I put a towel over the receiver to catch any springs that want to leave for parts unknown. I am still looking for a spring from last spring that went missing, quickly.lol
Study the pictures online ,and this forum has plenty.Take your time and you will do fine and you will most likely be very happy with the results.

Well everything went smoothly til I got it the receiver back together, and now it won't fire
Like its stuck on safety, the trigger wont engage after cocking it
I can't figure it out
If I turn the gun on its side and and turn it back over it will fire. Hmmm any ideas?
