blobs to strippers - worth it?

I was reading a couple of threads on air strippers; what I gathered from them is at worst, they do nothing, at best, they help improve accuracy.
I have a venom that came with a plastic "muzzle brake" ("blob") and I purchased a metal one. Neither are on the rifle.
but looking at strippers and the blobs I have, couldn't I cut/drill some slots in them so they act like an air stripper? Would it be worth the effort? or should I just leave them off? I don't think they help in cocking enough to warrant the weight...

You can always try and drill holes if you're not using them.... I have an air stripper on one of my guns and I DO notice the difference in accuracy with it on and off.. I think the reason for the non vented blobs on break barrels are so that you have a handle to where your finger prints don't wear out the bluing on the barrel... I have a couple of break barrels that I wish had blob handles in the front...

A proper air stripper has an adjustable sleeve so that you can tune the gap at the muzzle.... Here is an example....

Bob, that looks awesome! Which is more effective a muzzle break or air stripper?

They do different jobs.... A stripper is supposed to be tunable for a given pellet to produce minimum group size at a given velocity.... Muzzle brakes on airguns are mostly just for show.... with some just being weights or "handles"....

Yup ... most blobs are cocking handles ( if on a barrel break ) MOST if blob has some weight to it also act as vibration/harmonic dampers.
Plus they generally doll up the rifle making it look cooler
