Remington Airmaster 77
MikieG:
Tell me everything you know about this rifle. Thanks.
Big Bore Bart:
It's a version of the good old Crosman 2100. All mods and parts for the 2100 fit and work just fine. A search of the Forum will get you a lot of info.
Read on McDuff ;D :P :P
MikieG:
Are they worth anything? How rare are they?
birdmove:
I don't think they are rare at all. Also, Crosman is just recently making them again, so there goes any ideas of collector value. I bought mine about 9 years ago from a Walmart in Puyallup, Washington. I much preferred the looks of the Remington to the Crosman 2100. We moved to Hawaii about 5 1/2 years ago, my other airguns are in a constant battle with rust. The Remington has no blued parts to have to worry about. That's another reason why I like the Beeman Silver Kodiak (though I don't have one). No blued parts.
My Remington has never given even a hint of a malfunction of any kind. It shoots very well. Three pumps make a fine place to do quiet target shooting. My only minus is that you can only buy one with that 4x15 toy scope. Yes, you cab shoot with it, but the Airmaster deserves a much better scope. You can, however, buy the 2100 version without a scope and save some money. These, along with the Crosman 1377, 1322, Benjamin 392 and 397, are about the only multi pumps that have metal receivers. The 392 and 397 also have wood stocks. Croisman has now come out with a 2100 with a plastic receiver. Now, that one compares to the Crosman Model 66 (rifled) and the Model 760 (smooth bore), and all the other plastic multi pumpers like the Daisy 901 and 880, the Umarex NBG, the Deer River Sportsman 900 etc. If you want a metal based multi pumper, and don't want to spend the bucks for the 397/392, the Airmaster and 2100 are good guns. I will bet, unless we complain, that Crosman may drop the metal 2100.

The airmaster 77 is literally just a 2100 with a different name and color.
They're not rare at all, and in fact I had the chance to get a brand new one at goodwill a few years back for 10$ but passed as I'm not into all black stocks ( my crosman 66 and my Daisy 880 were both all black and I hated the look ) 10$ was a heckuva deal for it , but I'm glad I waited for my 2100 when Walmart got them in stores.
The crosman 2100 is a great accurate plinker and you just can't beat them for the price. Some may prefer the Daisy 880 but they use plastic receivers and are made in China, the crosman uses a cast metal receiver and is made here in America.
BTW crosman has recently released a modification of the 2100 called the legacy which has a steel piston and rod, it has a plastic receiver which I believe is so the gun could still be low cost.
