I recently inherited a Crosman 1861, I have replaced the piercing pin, and end seal, but when I try to put a
co2 cartridge in, it pierces and empties before it reaches the seal, what is the trick to loading the co2 without losing any pressure?

Percy,
Sorry, no first hand experience with the 1861, but it sounds like you have a seal problem. Could it be that you reassembled it incorrectly when replacing parts?
Another thought. If you had it completely apart for your repairs, the valve may not be holding pressure.
Last thought. Have you been putting a drop of oil on each CO2 cartridge? That oil helps keep all the seals working properly.
Good luck. I know how frustrating it is to think you are doing a simple repair and have it fail.

Thanks Tom--I haven't tried the oil on the cartridge, I'll try that, as far as the seal replacement , I used a diagram right from the Crosman web-site to disassemble and reassemble it and used the indicated part# to replace the seal.
