Is this one of those things that you get what you pay for. Then regret buying.

Not enough information provided . . .

Yeah, McMaster Carr wouldn't be my first choice. But if you can find the mfr, and then get their specs, then you would be better armed to decide. I have bought gas springs from them, but the applications were not close to what we're looking at here !!! ;)

I'd bet if you do your homework you could find the correct industrial application hardware to get an airgun Ram done. Probably would need to talk to a Rep that knows the products being made in that sector.
McMaster Carr is extremely useful for commonplace stuff as they have about the most selection imaginable but it is still just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what can be had and/or made to specific specs.
Rams are definitely built to specific needs. From holding a gullwing door open to lifting trucks Rams are a part of Industry in so many ways.

Mcmaster Carr seems to have the selection needed for airguns. Was wondering if anyone used these gas springs? At the prices listed was wondering on performance and durability.

OR you might come visit the TURKISH Gate on GTA . . . "GAS RAMS R US" !
These ARE the "correct" ones for airguns : Stroke lengths are usually 100mm or 120 mm and the "RED" or "YELLOW" levels are used . . .

I just briefed over your link and basically would say "No". You're looking at a minimum 200lbs+ with a short stroke and end-mounting rod and seal strength. The class of gas spring you're looking at is used in dies for machining. High strength, high repeatability, high load, and has to match the stroke length with a slight pre-load. Without specifications, that page doesn't do much to help in selection. But in brief, I didn't see anything there that I personally would consider.
There are some members that are currently working with other manufactured units that you may wanna search out. It would be a little better/safer than trying Mc Carr. IMHO. Check w/Supertech I think? He can direct you and help. I quit on it, and am waiting on them, as they're really hot into it. LUCKY US !!!!!!
Edit: Well, while I was posting, Dave gives you a choice. There's guys who are on this topic For Sure ! Thanks Dave
