Garbage in - garbage out. There were several issues. I reworked the contacts, bonded a bullet in the bore and applied 225 lbs. to the base of the bullet. Much better results.......The muzzle most set screw shows the most load, I believe that this is a result of a small displacement (0.0012) of the breech end of the barrel in the X axis. this would not happen when the barrel is completely supported in the receiver. Any how, there are no obvious issue with this attachment method, all stresses are well within reason.No spear gun for me Tom
I've found my first Evanix faux pas. The threads in the shroud are not axial with the bore! The misalignment travels around and around in circles as the shroud is screwed on. This is the final resting position. Yikes! It looks like I'll be re-threading the shroud.
