Ok family, friends and country men, question. As some of you may know, I acquired a Sheridan C9A .20cal. I would like opinions, suggestions and recommendations as to what I should do. First up is this:1) If I were to put on a peep sight what type/model I should get? And why? Also will I have to do any modification to the front sight post?http://www.midwayusa.com/product/182357/williams-5d-sh-receiver-peep-sight-benjamin-340-342-347392-397-sheridan-model-c-aluminum-black?cm_vc=ProductFindingI put this on my 392 and it did not require raising the front sight. I did anyway to give more adjustment should I need it. I used JB Weld to put a short piece of copper wire on the top of the sight.2) Trigger? What can be done to lighten and smooth it out? And if there is anything that can be done, will some basic hand tools (ones that are common in an average man's tool box) be sufficient?Don't know. I had the steroid treatment and he took care of that for me.3) Power? Can it be improved? Meaning, can it be enhanced without sending it out. Basically at home mods on the valve or what not? And would it be worth it. I think that whatever you get with 8 pumps is going to be all you can achieve without the steroid treatment. As long as the valve seals are good and nothing leaks, it should be plenty for most uses.4) Over spray/paint in the front part of the barrel. I used finger nail polish remover w/a q-tip and held it upside down. Very black and numerous q-tips later they came out clean but it still looks black inside. So is it removed? It is shoots well, things are good.5) If cleaning a barrel from breach to muzzle is the proper way, then how can you clean it correctly if you can not put a cleaning rod or boresnake in through the breach? I went through the muzzle to breach w/a cleaning rod and dry patches. I was afraid of using any type of cleaning solutions due to o rings. So how or can I use cleaning solutions? And will it get into the hole that the air comes out from the valve into the barrel? I use Goo-Gone on a cloth patch pulled using monofilament fishing line from the breech to the muzzle. I might do this about ever 500 to 1000 shots or if the accuracy starts changing. Just a damp cloth patch and not so tight that it breaks the line and sticks in the barrel. Boresnakes I have used on other guns have brass brushes incorporated into them. This is a brass barrel so you have to be careful about scratching and ruining it.6) Recrowning. Is it beneficial, because i think the barrel is brass inside. This is an assumption. And if it is ok to recrown, how or what is the best way to do so?Unless you need to, I would not be doing this without good reason. Is the crown uneven or dented in some way? If not, I would leave it alone. Thanks to every and anyone who can assist me.William
I also just got a C9A and am interested in how to work on it. All of your questions apply to me also and I don't want to hijack your thread, but i would like to ask an additional question if that is allowed. I know it is bad to "dry fire" a springer without a pellet in it, does that also apply to the Sheridan?
