I have found I have to use JSB 18 grain pellet to keep it at 980 fps. CPHP and ultra mags go at 1070 fps shoot 5 into small group but out of ten two will be flyers they are going to fast to be consistent. I detest sending away for the JSB's

I detest sending away for the JSB'sI'm also using the 18.13 heavies. CPs shoot well also but i haven't shot them more than 50 yards. They seem to work as well as the JSBs at 25-50 yards. I know they're hot but I haven't had any trouble shooting them.
Hey Blackdiesel,So do you think the QE addition improved accuracy vs. the regular Hatsan "Long" setup? If yes, IYO how much?Thanks...........Kirk
JSB 18.1 5.53mm is what i think best pellet for AT 44,even if target is about 680 ft away With the short and up to 160 ft Long is not reguladed, short is (32 fpe/40 shots 200 - 100 bar)
Adding a LDC to the gun should not change the accuracy of the gun unless its for the worst. An air stripper might tighten up the groups but a well design LDC will work just fine. Once you get a AT44 dialed in she is a joy to shoot! I cant see spending more money on any other gun. It does just what you want it to do as a hunting gun. Like Blackdiesel said....if you know your holdover you will not have a problem hitting any thing.
Hatsan shows a reduction on carbines, the barrel there is shorter and the total length is the same, using a (*^% or ldc or qe (or what ever anyone name it) we have the same barrel and +20cm to oveall length,no power lost
