Title: Looking for a Crosman 2200
Post by: pappa on May 24, 2012, 09:33:33 PM
I have a little Crosman 2100 that I love. Have recently been introduced to a Crosman 2200 which appears to be a more powerful .22 version of the 2100. These have not been in production for a number of years but Crosman still lists parts for them. I am now lusting after a 2200. Does anyone have or know where I might get one of the 2200s in any condition at all. If anyone has one, I would pay a premium price for it.

Thanks for any help.

I saw a nice one "a 2200 magnum" might even have been Coleman branded -on gunbroker a few weeks ago. Almost bid on it since I wanted one too. I think it was around $50.

---Here it is: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=284457143 (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=284457143)
Sold for $46 +15 shipping actually.

i really like my 2200 magnum shoots great and accurate . only issue with mine was part 2200B015 is plastic and broke. so i made one from left over aluminum. 700 shots later and its still shooting fine.

I have one also and also just broke the bolt , part no. 2200B015 . Called Crosman and $1.70something and $4.00 shipping .
I just swapped a pump cup off a 66 to replace a bad one . Shot the 2200 5 times and the bolt broke .

I will fix it and keep it going as long as I can get , find , or make parts . Crosman would be wise to bring back a good .22 with similar style . I like mine a lot .

Unrest . Aluminum ? Want to make another ?

They are far and few between showings and then one or two will show up . Mostly in the $45 to 55 range . Real nice may go $75 unless it is the chrome version in excellent shape . Then it may go even higher . I wish I would have grabbed Lampys , the last one on GB , when I had the chance .

I've got a model 1 with Williams rear sight. Very similar to the 2220 except its got wood instead of pastic, better sights,  brass barrel liner, decent trigger, internal differences.

A little update . Made a deal with SnoValley on a real nice 2200 . Now I have a 2nd version and 3rd . The rifle from SnoValley is the 3rd version and has the best crown I have seen on a Crosman 21 or 2200 barrel . The breech end is also very nice . I have a feeling someone did it after the factory sent it out the door.
Shooting it after it arrived gave me a chance to try it out before doing any of the usual mods . I don't have a big variety of .22 pellets to try but found it does not like Crosman Pointed Premiums . Shooting The other 2 pellets ,Daisy Superior Match Grade and Crosman wadcutters was a lot more of what I was hoping for .
So far shooting the 2100 Classic,2100B,2200-V1 or 2200-V2 my best groups all came with wadcutters at 24'.
I took it apart and did a little work on the insides . When I was in the process of putting it back together . The spring for the sear left stage right and has not been seen since .
I have not been able to get back to it as I have been under the weather for more than a week now .  SnoValley thanks for a very smooth transaction .

Hope it's OK to resurrect this older thread.  I'm looking for a 2200 as well in good shooting condition.
Anyone?

Thanks!

I have both the Crosman Model 1 and the 2200. After trying half dozen different pellets the JSB Match Jumbo Diabolo wad cutters work best in both.
NO!!!!! there not for sale, as the man said "you will have to pry them from my cold dead hands". There both tack drivers.

Thanks Avator, that's funny you did that. I just posted question on their value in the Crosman gate and then I saw this.

Mike's XS-28 keeps getting better and better by the way. I'm gonna send him some pics of the latest groups I've been shooting with it. Finally fell into the sweet spot with a hold with it. I've enjoyed the challenge of it.

Thank you very much for pointing me in his direction. Glad I made the drive down to him.
