I'm purchasing a dragon claw and the African Air Ordnance kit. My only concern is the installation as I do not have a spanner wrench. Not too many write ups out there either.

Here is a 5 shot string starting at 250 bar fill using 141 grain round balls
Arent these 200 bar fill rifles?
Some useful numbers pulled from here, and Saddle Mountain. With 141 grain lead round ball ammo.Factory FPS 800 791 778 762 - Avg 782.75- 3000 psiStock with 141 grain round ball: 191.88 FPESaddle Mountain 909s TunePower Tuned FPS 896 919 891 850 - Avg 889 - 3000 psiTune With 141 grain round ball: 247.5 FPE///////African Air Ordnance896 828 858 879 896 - AVG: 871.4 - 3625.94 psiTune with 141 grain round ball: 237.8 FPEInteresting to me, that it took 3625.94 psi to get the AAO numbers which are still a hair less than Saddle Mountain (Will Piatt)I'd like to hear from African Air Ordnance and get feed back on these numbers. And nope I've not gotten the chance to do my Tune on my 909s yet. Broke my foot, and it's making it rather painful to stand on my feet for very long... that and life has a way of keeping me from everything I want to do. SteveohQuote from: appalachian airgunner on October 03, 2016, 09:51:36 AMHere is a 5 shot string starting at 250 bar fill using 141 grain round balls I think you listed the numbers out of order shot one was 896 shot 2 was 879 shot 3 858 shot 4 828 shot 5 794 .We were asked to make an upgrade kit for these rifles all we had to work with was an original valve so that said Im happy with the numbers and im happy that there are 5 kill shots instead of 4 .This valve is designed that you know your first shot is always your most powerfulOn Saddle mountains you will see that between shot 1 and 2 there is a 28 fps difference ,on ours between shot 1 and 2 there is 17 fps difference , then from shot 2 and 3 Saddle Mountain had a 28 fps difference on ours 21 fps difference Then on shot 3 to 4 Saddle Mountain there was a difference of 41 fps and our 3 to 4 there was a 30 fps difference There was no shot 5 from Saddle Mountain numbers but our 5th shot was 34 fps difference I happy with the fact we have a flat shot string .I look forward to getting the numbers in on different bullet weights to see what the max foot pounds it can produce I,m sure with some tweaking there is room for improvements . These kits came about so that folks would be able to work on there own guns and improve the factory performance
I ordered and received an African Air Ordnance Tuning Kit for my Sam Yang 909s (single tube). I have not yet started to install it, and am taking my time so as to do an excellent job. On reading the instructions I noticed that they say you can install the kit with or without the machining. Without machining you will get additional power, but not as much as you would with machining. I know folks have purchased these kits, but the reports back are few and far between, especially with real world numbers. Seems to me that it would be mighty beneficial for folks contemplating these tune kits to understand better what they are getting into, and what the performance changes are.AAO offers kits for the Sam Yang:1. Recluse .3572. 909 (double tube) .453. 909s (single tube) .454. Dragon Claw .50If you bought and installed one of these kits Report Back! I will be doing a complete write up of this gun's performance, stock and modded, complete with images, and maybe even video.I have read of folks having issues with cocking their guns, and apparently AAO now includes two handles, one a bit larger than the original.
We were asked to make an upgrade kit for these rifles all we had to work with was an original valve so that said Im happy with the numbers and im happy that there are 5 kill shots instead of 4 .This valve is designed that you know your first shot is always your most powerfulOn Saddle mountains you will see that between shot 1 and 2 there is a 28 fps difference ,on ours between shot 1 and 2 there is 17 fps difference , then from shot 2 and 3 Saddle Mountain had a 28 fps difference on ours 21 fps difference Then on shot 3 to 4 Saddle Mountain there was a difference of 41 fps and our 3 to 4 there was a 30 fps difference There was no shot 5 from Saddle Mountain numbers but our 5th shot was 34 fps difference I happy with the fact we have a flat shot string .I look forward to getting the numbers in on different bullet weights to see what the max foot pounds it can produce I,m sure with some tweaking there is room for improvements .
