1322 steel breech question

After a long weeks wait I received a crosman steel breech I bought off the yellow. The seller was great in all respects and advertised the breech as the "new" model. Me being a newby to crosman pumpers, I assumed that this breech would fit all .22 models and bought it for my new 1322 but the mounting screw(hex) is about 1/2" closer to the rear of the breech, everything else looked the same, exhaust port lines up, etc. I called Crosman and a heavy rochester accent told me that without a part number they can't help. The seller will let me know once he gets the email but I thought i'd ask ya'll for a varied, professional opinion. Thanks,. Jeff

oh yeah that's the new style breech
guns like the 2240,2250 can use that breech because they come with the old and new breech screw location
if you have one of those guns with a steel breech swap them out.just make sure you have a notched hammer if you do

That is a Disco style breech.... I just bought a brand new 2240 with the new plastic side plate trigger group and it came with the forward screw location.... and the rear hole in the tube was NOT tapped.... It was, however, drilled, so if you had a 4-48 tap you could tap the hole and then use the Disco style breech.... Then you would have to grind a notch in the top of the hammer to miss the screw or the gun won't fire, of course....

Just wanted you guys to know that because of your help I tackled the drilling and tapping and notching, got my disco breech held with a 4-40 stainless hex, got M Chavkas barrel band installed, added the weaver rail and put the reflex sight on. Had an issue with aireaking from the breech area so I disassembled and teflon taped all metal to metal air passage fittings, now its tight and shooting great, feels so heavy and solid in comparison with the stock gun.. Thanks so much for ya'lls help.. Jeff
