Do the sights on a 392 adjust for windage or do I have to use a shaping file?

Yes they adjust on my new one. At the front of the rear sight you will find a slotted screw head. By backing one side out a little the opposite side can be screwed in. When your done make sure both sides are snug, or it will move on you.

You can adjust the sight using the set screws.

The best sight option for a Benjamin/Sheridan is the Williams peep for which they are already drilled and tapped. 10 minute job---if you're slow.
Once set they stay that way unless you use them as a hammer or change pellets.
Even old eyes that haven't been able to shoot opens for years can use a peepsight since the aperture acts as a lens to focus vision. If the sight pic ever starts getting blurry just instann an aperture with a smaller hole to sharpen it up.

Shootstraight: If you don't have these, go to these links for the Operating Manual and the Parts List, the parts list will also help you get a view of the "guts" of your gun too. Always good to know what the insides look like so that you canmake better use of the outside!
