I posted a question at network54 and really never did get any real help on the situation. Maybe you will be of more assistance?
If I cock this 45, everything goes as expected, safety sets, trigger sets, but it slips off of the piston catch and returns to the uncocked state. It appears to be a little used gun and I did get to shoot it, one time! Since then, it hasn't cocked. Any suggestions?

I'm wondering if the piston may be the problem, since the trigger piston catch doesn't seem to have much wear on it?

ive never had a 45 apart but that would be a starting point .is the trigger catch ok ? might be the part that caches the piston

you guy's are on the right track and a weak spring in the trigger group will cause the same effect it won't hold the main spring pressure check the end of the piston stem for wear if it looks rounded off where it locks into the trigger you have a problem and if not the spring on the safty my need to be replaced JMO
