Title: Are Tasco Varmint scopes springer rated?
Post by: Toolmaker on November 06, 2010, 09:21:18 PM
I'm looking / considering a new scope for my Gamo VS. I like the looks of the Wally World Centerpoint and it has the reputation of being a good scope for the money. I also like the looks of the Tasco 2.5-10 X42 Varmint scope. It is in the same price range and is an AO scope too. Will the Tasco stand up to springer recoil or would the Centerpoint be a better choice?

Hi  Toolmaker,  you'll be MUCH better off with the leapers/centerpoint as the tasco just won't hold up to a springer unless it's the Airrifle model, and even then it's not a strong/medium duty scope. The centerpoint is a great scope for the money and will take recoil with no problem. Hope this helps,  J

I have a Tasco Golden Antler, but only use it on medium springers. I agree the Centerpoint is the stronger, and more airgun proven, of the two brands. I haven't used the Varmint, though.

Id roll with a Leapers scope. They are rock solid And now they are using the locking rings like on the CP scopes instead of the allen wrench type that they used to use. They work very well.

Also just know u can use any scope on a co2 or hpa as long as u can adjust the scope to 10 yrds nikko stirling mount master and game king u can and bushnell u can also cp and leapers are all airgun scopes u can't go wrong with them bsa make air gun rated scopes and barska also but I heard barska glass really sux .I would stick with leapers or cp or bushnell if u have the cash for one but if u insist on a tasco put that puppy on a hpa or co2.by the way for folks that owned the tasco world class scopes?how is the glass?
