Title: Guppy Bag
Post by: vtmactech on January 17, 2014, 10:36:44 PM
What are you guys using that have "Guppy" size tanks?  I couldn't find anything local to tied up a bag out of a single strand of paracord.  Turned out kinda nice.  Might add a handle.  It adds the cushioning and protection I was after.  Took about 105 feet of paracord.

I got a logic oxygen tank cover off ebay for 20. Very well padded, carry strap and looks like it was made for the guppy.

I carry mine in a hunting backpack. It has room for extras like water, lunch, game calls, ammo, cigars, etc. .I like to walk and make a  day out of the hunt. I hunt on a federal Wildlife Management Area, and they only allow  you to go in on foot.

+1!!! Timmy gave me a complimentary cover when I bought a buddy bottle assembly from him.  If I ever need PCP stuff, I'll check with him first.

Something like that?

This is a good one: "Caselogic MOPC-1 Oxygen Tank Carrier". It's a well-padded medical oxygen tank-carrier, with straps, that fits the guppy like a glove. Costs about $15-25.

Yup, this is the one in my post above. Fits like a glove. I lucked out and found mine with a "make offer" and they took it.

Came in yesterday.
Very nice fit.
Though, when I take it to the fill shop, it might be difficult to get off so they can check the hydro certification date.
Just saying.

Case Logic from Amazon.com.  Saw this and decided I liked it better than the one I made.  Well worth $20.  Thanks for linking it.

If you go to WALMART camping section, you will find a cup/bowl combination. Silicone. The bowl (yellow or green) fits on the bottom of the Guppy perfectly.

It gives the bottom of the guppy a little more protection from bumps. IMHO

Looks ok, I guess, but the Logic is a nice fit and protects the tank well and that's my goal. Very well padded. To each his own.

I just don't want to crack the carbon fiber.
I know there is an aluminum tank inside the carbon but, if that carbon is damaged the tank is done.
Just my opinion. ;)

I hear you. I'm anal about taking care of things.  To the point, that the plastic negative post protectors on new car batts fit on female fosters and if you go to ACE, you can get the soft plastic thread protectors that fit on the male fosters.  5/16s fit the standard male air hose's and the next size down fits the F8 male and the tank male fitting, Keeps dirt ( dust ) out and protects from dings.
