Help with boosted pump please.

So after getting all the stuff to try and boost my pump, something isn't right. When I put the filter on it makes the handle hard to pull up, like its a vacuum. When I hook it up to my air tank, it has no effect....you try to pull the pump handle up it will slam back down under pressure and doesn't pump. I tried reversing the filter and it doesn't change anything. If I take the filter off and put the original bolt back in place and it works fine. What am I doing wrong

Are you sure there isn't a piece of rubber stuck in the desiccant filter? They normally have a piece in there so it won't dry out sitting on the shelf.
