Title: Daisy 120
Post by: lampy on July 11, 2010, 09:07:32 PM
I picked up a Daisy 120 today, after a google search the only info I've found is that it was made by El Gamo in the mid 80's. Can any of you Gamo Guru's out there confirm this for me or point me some where, where I can research this AG a little more. Any info is appreciated.  ;D

Daisy seems to have had many air guns made for them by other companies !

And your Model 120 is one of them !!!!

Your air gun was made by El Gamo in Spain from 1984 - 1985. And has a value of $30 in 90% condition too $75 in 100% condition.

I pulled this information from the Blue Book of Airguns, seventh edition.

Congratulations on your new air gun !!!!

Bill

Nice! How does it shoot? Did a tear down on mine and found a broken main spring and a dry piston seal. Got some weird defects in the bore so it may  become a carbine if it wont lap out. I posted some pic's on AG1, would have posted here but dont feel like resizing them to fit. Yeah I'm lazy that way.  ::)

By the way the Roll eyes smiley face isn't working.

I have one such gun Big Bill. It is a Daisy 131 and made by Gamo. It shoots around 550 fps with Gamo Hunters. It is very accurate out to 20 yards. Great gun for the novice lady and and youths. And it will take the GRT-III trigger.

What I know so far; The Daisy 120 was made by El Gamo in 84 and 85, it's a lesser version of the El Gamo 600 ( non adj. trigger and no butt plate ) Still a pretty cool AG, I'll post more after I get her fixed up and tuned.

While doing a Google search on the 120, this old conversation came up.  I figured I'd add some info in case others are searching also.  The 120 does NOT accept the GRT-III trigger.  It's non-adjustable, has an automatic "safety" built in and is held in place by the mainspring tension. Still looking for an exploded view of the gun and to see if I can find spares for it.

The 120 was also known as the Gamo Cadet, you may find information under that name.    Mine has a leather piston seal.   I doubt that any current production Gamo parts will fit it.  You can get parts (spring, seals, etc) from Larry Behling in New York, he's the guy that puts on the Baldwinsville airgun show, or JG Airguns, maybe others as well.

My In-laws bought me one for a Christmas present in 1984. 33 years later, it still shoots great, I've made every mistake you can make to an air gun, and it still shoots just as well as it did back in the day, The velocity is between 5-600 fps, still decks starlings, The wood stock still has the tooth marks from where my ex wife's doberman chewed it up. it only shoots .177's at between 5-600 fps, but that is good for 20 yds or so, I love it!
