In the future i would like to get a long thumb-hole stock. or maybe one like this:you can get them from A r c h e r air guns for about $70 and with slight modification it just may fit. Then again, im not sure yet still shopping in that area.
In the future i would like to get a long thumb-hole stock. or maybe one like this:
I got the Boyds Blaster Stock From Discos R Us ... I elected to get it unfinished, I then sanded and did a High Gloss finish.Norm at www.discosrus.net inlets the stock and they fit very well.I finished my stocks myself with Min-wax High Gloss Polyurethane. I have put on about 8 to 10 coats of Poly using a lint free cloth "One Coat in the Morning One Coat in the evening"(you can use cheese cloth) folded up and then sanding with 220 grit paper between each of the first 3 coats, the next 3 coats I sanded between each coat using 400 grit paper, then the last few coats I used #0000 steel wool. Took about 4 days to do this and still have to wait for some time to pass before polishing out any small rough spots and then waxing it. I also cut the fore end on the Thumb hole stock about 2.5" shorter, so I could install my Picatinny barrel band to make room for attachments. She shines Like a 10 carat Diamond. Thanks to Normand for the finishing advice. If the finish after 8 to 10 coats is not as smooth or glassy as you would like do this, WET Sand the Last coat of Polly after it cures for a couple days or longer with 1400 Grit Paper or higher very lightly, then get some Car Polishing Compound (Turtle Wax Brand) and polish it up by hand or with a polishing wheel, by hand works just fine. Do not get wax make sure it say Polishing Compound.William
No problem fitting an AR stock to a Disco/22xx gun, quite easy in fact. All that needs to be done is to widen the trigger slot in stock about 1/8" to accommodate the slightly wider Disco or Marauder trigger group and bore a hole for Disco gauge and mounting bolt.An older pic, but here is my AR2078 w/target stock on bottom, and my Cr 2260 w/Marauder trigger sporting an AR2078 thumbhole stock on top. Disco/22xx tubes are the same diameter as QB/AR tubes so no worries there

The 2 bottle guns belong to HappyHunter...My guess would be those 2 guns get over 100 shots per fill,,, just a guess!

The bottom gun is .177 (my FT gun) and depending on where I have the RVA set, I get anywhere from 276 shots @ 588 fps (7.9 fpe) to 66 shots @ 875 fps (17.6 fpe) using 10.34 gr JSB Heavies. Currently have it tuned to 12 fpe...190 shots @ 720 fps. When the nephew comes over and we plink in the basement, I dial it back to 400 fps and get over 500 shots!! (512 to be exact)Top gun in pic is .22 cal, but it only gets 55 shots using 16 gr Polymags @ 930 fps (30.7 fpe). I may get a few more shots than you, but yours are sooooooo sweet-looking....beautiful job! Sorry for the hi-jack Oldnoob... ...we now return to your regularly scheduled program!
This is turning into some sort of weird obsession. Just ordered a 26" barrel from www.smithairgunrepair.com, an authorized Crosman service center Will post pics when it arrives.

Do I have to call them or am I just looking to hard? Thanks;William
I emailed Sue and she was super quick to refund my money. I had read that the 26" barrels were smooth bore, but i assumed that was a fluke. Well evidently they are indeed smooth bore. Here's a picture of the barrel best i can do with this camera. The picture may not convey just how smooth the bore was , but let me tell you it was almost mirror like.Im shipping the barrel back tomorrow.
