I have already installed a Tuna trigger and polished and lubed all contact surfaces in the trigger group with moly which made a huge difference.
What are your recommendations for a debur and lube tune? I've never had a gas piston rifle opened up before do I need a spring compressor? What do you guys suggest as for seals?

Essentially an NP rifle is pretty much like a coil spring rifle. Some manner of spring compressor is necessary but a bar clamp with jack screw will do the job. From preload to a completely unloaded state is a quarter to a half inch.
Like any other gun, debur any sharp edges, especially along the cocking slot. I commonly use Air Rifle Headquarters for seals but Vortek would work well also. I believe both carry machined seals. I have heard for the NP2 series even Crosman seals are fine but I have no experience there.
Clean the inside of the gun well. There is probably manufacturing gunk left in the compression tube. A bit of moly or Krytox on the piston seal lip is a plus on reassembly and be careful not to nick the seal.
If there were any spacers on the strut end be sure they are replaced. They will put preload on the strut. Without a bit of preload the piston inside under pressure will slam into the end of the strut and it can self destruct.

I don't have any practical experience with the NP2 platform, but I can tell you that every first gen NP that has crossed my path has benefitted from a debur and proper lube. It makes the shot cycle very smooth and quiet. Also it may benefit you to tear it down if only to make sure the screw that holds your seal on is properly torqued (I've read they often come loose)? Regarding a "spring compressor": use one (or some kind of mechanical compressor). Even though the nitro spring isn't preloaded much, I doubt most "normal humans" will be able to muscle it back together as can often be done with a steel spring. Best of luck!

I have 2 NP2 rifles. Both were burr free and clean inside. Much different from my NP that looked like it was made with a dull saw. I do recommend replacing the plastic pivot washers with bronze thrust washers. Something else that I have done is to replace the pivot screw retaining set screw with an 8-32X1/4" socket head bolt. You will need to carve a clearance for this in the stock. This keeps the pivot from turning much better.

Thanks for the tip Mobilehomer, I hope this "pivot screw" replacement for the NP2 ,along with the washers, will work for a standard NP model as well (in a different size of course).

Did a tune on mine and it was real simple. Cleaned up all edges and cleaned. Used the Benjamin seal . My numbers seam to be lower than when it was first done, shootingcphps at 782. Have things gone south on me. Wolfer

Numbers will frequently be lower with a new seal. It hasn't fully seated or broken in yet. If you put a bit of moly or Krytox on the lip it will slide more freely but you are still breaking in a new seal.
