My goal is 20 shots in the mid to upper 800 at 20 fpe with a 4% es. Just like I did with my .22 FD-PCP. I will use the B-staley o-ring mod. I think My hurdle is going to be the difference in air capacity. The FD-PCP (if I'm remebering right) is 115 and the 2260 is around 90.The rest of the parts will be in this week and we can get started. One more thing I want to do with this build is document it here. I haven't been very diligent with that in the past so please be patient with me. My OCD and ADD sometimes get the better of me.
Just to clarify , if not to warn anyone reading. The 2260 tube has the manufacturer roll stamping in the side of it. The detail of this stamping makes the tube wall thinner. These stampings may or may not be consistant in depth making it virtually impossible to determine maximum safe pressure containment. On at least one occassion a 2260 tube with the stamping has been tested to 10,000 psi. Maximum C02 pressure is 1800 psi. One would have to think that this would be regulated to be safe in the event that something go wrong and the C02 pressure would be released within the tube. Also a safety buffer would be a consideration. My intention is to fill to no more than 1800psi. That being said.. if I had considered all options before choosing this route, I admittedly would have chosen the Discovery tube for the build. One other note... an 1800 psi burst dics has been strongly recommended.
Yeah,,, I guess we all knew it was going to happen... I placed the order for the Disco tube and the Challenger power adjuster. Along with 4 grub screws and 4 breech screws (never can have enough of those) that total came to another $45. Can you really put a price on good clean fun? I remember back in the day I used to spend that much just to get to the bar then the came flying out of the wallet.Oh and remember the twinkle in Betty Lou's eye when she shot the gun last night? Her Birthday just happens to be Tuesday. All I got her so far was the Eric Church cd she wanted.
