I'm going to lay this out for you in short form. First you buy a rifle from a retailer that was damaged and sent it back and received another damaged gun and sent it back. Bad luck? Then you bought a refurbished gun from another retailer that I assume you knew someone else sent back to them because it wasn't right and it was replaced with another gun. Predictable? Then you bought scope mount for $61.00 shipped that's $44.95 plus shipping at another retailer. The method of shipping could be the reason for the difference but only you know that. Then you didn't consider the guns bolt or the height of the scope mounts when you bought a scope and it didn't work out.Somehow all this is someone else's fault?Really Bryan
i just can't imagine a plastic breech having long term durability and stability .http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/blog/2012/11/the-webley-rebel-the-new-kid-in-town.html
I have received several guns that had problems and it is aggravating. Maybe putting the Benjamin up for awhile will be a good thing. When you get it back out and get the set up right try some heavy Eun Jin pellets and see how it performs with them. I don't have a new Benjamin or Sheridan rifle but I do have a new HB22 and it shoots great. I have no doubt that Crosman has some quality control problems that are frustrating to many. It's sad that they don't seem to see the value in producing quiality products like the ones made in the past. I hope the gun you have now is a good one and in time you enjoy shooting it.Bryan

most important line in the thread most are ignoring " The Tim Mac-1 Steroid was my first choice, but sadly Tim no longer sells them. Tim explained that the "current offering" from Crosman does not meet his standards," This just doesn't speak volumes, it SCREAMS volumes! Who concert deafening volumes! If Tim won't buy them, there IS a reason. He is one of the best in the industry. I tend to mostly agree the Q.C. at Crosman needs to go back up...
