Near the end of the 5mm Webley Raider tune up

Day 7:
Decided that the power level was where I wanted it (about 20 foot pounds). Right now, no real reason to keep playing with that part of the tune-up. Later on, will get efficiency obsessed and get back to that.
Time to get back to accuracy.
SCOPE:
Did NOT order the gun with a scope. I seldom do. Better to first use a borrowed scope that you KNOW to be good. Saves a lot of frustration that way.
Tried 3 scopes, all known to be good on other guns. Found that 3-9X suited this gun’s use just fine. Also found that a 3-9X50mm felt too big/heavy. 3-9X40mm was better. 3-9X32 seems the best compromise.
BREAK IN:
Decided to shoot the gun and clean it every 75 rounds for 500 shots. Each time it was tested, accuracy was a little bit better. Understand, I did NOTHING but shoot it/clean it/shoot it. Because accuracy continued to get better as it broke in, indicated that the breech end was the more likely to need a look-see.
Removed the barrel, removed the o-ring bolt seal in the barrel (that it has in common with Crosmans), and polished the breech end of the barrel. May have been a slight transfer port burr or a general roughness there. Nothing drastic, just a little steel wool on a mandrel spun at low speed.
POST POLISH QUICK-TEST
The breech polish looks like it did some good. For the first time am getting groups near MOA at 20yards.
4 pellets deserve more testing. Barracudas, JSB Exacts, CP’s, and Field Target Trophy’s. Will sort out the best of those by testing at twice the distance (40yards), 4 5-shot groups for each pellet.
