Here is a pic of the SKS cheek rest mentioned above. It's easy to modify to fit your stock and works great.

You can use the felt side of velcro strips and then stick them on the stock or the inside of the cheek rest sides.
Pipe insulation from Lowes. Not very fancy, but works for me. I also cut 1 3/4" from stock. The stock is solid.
