Is there an easy way to calculate

pellet drop at long ranges, other than ChairGun?
I understand its designed for Hawke brand scopes.
But what if you have a Leapers, or CenterPoint, or another brand scope?
Short of going out and slinging pellets at a target the size of a 4x8 sheet of plywood, whats a fellow to do?
I also understand mil-dots and hold over, but are all the mil-dots on everyones scope the same size and distance apart?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Mil dots are basically a unit of measure, and should be constant for all optics.
Go here for some good reads:

Various types of scopes also explained on this site.

Chairgun will work with any brand of scope. Download it and check it out.

What Perry said. The Hawke specific program is called BRC, and works very well if you have a Hawke scope, although I believe they added a standard mil dot reticle to the program awhile back.
Mil dot spacing is standard, but only at specific power on variable power scopes, usually whatever is the highest mag for that particular scope. One thing to watch out for, there are scopes out there that have their turrets in mils rather than fractions of an inch. I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40, it's calibrated 10 clicks to the mil, which is rather cool, but messed with me until I actually broke down and read the instructions :-). Later.

Chair gun and other computer programs are good but the only way to know for sure is by shooting at the different ranges and look at the results. Every rifle, barrel, and pellet will have some diffferences.

I have found that if you plug in all the variables accurately (especially the pellets BC), the Chairgun will match your pellets trajectory pretty closely.
