removing the barrel from the receiver in sam yang recluse

All that I've been able to glean so far, is that the barrel should just pull free from the receiver once I've removed the screws holding down the dovetail at the very least. Right now, I can't get it to budge and there actually looks to be large allen head screw into the air tube. Any thoughts on this?

I finally just took it and put it in a vice and gave it a tap with a piece of bamboo and it slipped right off. I've no idea why it should have been so tight. It goes back together real easy and comes apart now, so I'm thinking that whatever was binding it is broke free now...
.
My issue now is the the roll pin...

1/3 of the way into my modification of the air ordinance Sam Yang upgrade. Got an upgraded valve from him too later that I'm installing. All the tools needed, drills, o rings, and a centre allowed me to with a little patience, center the bottom (slot drill) drill with my chuck, set the depth to .177 and open up the transfer port housing and now I'm drilling out the port itself before moving on the area of the breech. I followed the pictures provided which makes it, even for a clutz, fairly straightforward.
Jeremy King is very helpful and responds to questions on stuff right away. There are some dramatic differences between the original and the air ordinance replacement. I'll post some pictures as I get through this project.
For now though... TWO THUMBS up....

Hi Dave.... well there is one little potential glitch in the way I drilled this out in that the drill bit I think is centered, but because the smaller drill had a taper to it, I didn't drill to far into the air channel and it looks like it left a lip. I took a bottom drill of my own and tried to hand ream it and it looks as if there shouldn't be much if any disturbance... I'm going to work on what I can with a diamond file. Getting ready to drill out the air tube for the transfer port. I'll take some pictures of the progress so far and the really rudimentary set up I'm using.

Ok.... well so far, it seems, so good! Going to fit stuff together after I polish the burrs and such, but a preliminary fitting saw it all snap together!
Pumped so far...

Hi Tom
It sounds like you took care of all machining work.
How were the instructions for it?
From what I understand these kits really boost the power.
Thank you for posting

*sigh* I had a full description of my efforts and somehow lost them trying to post a picture... so here is my attempt at making sure stuff was level on the airtube...

Ok... have to apologize... the pictures that I took, didn't come out properly and were blurred. I shouldn't have used any of the zoom features of the camera which I thought I needed. Ok... so anyway... I'm going to gas the gun in a bit after I get set up to chronograph it.
One... Go Slow... I didn't pay attention to a couple of hidden screws and made the disassembly trying.. two under the front sight, one under the rear.
Ok... the instructions that Jeremy forwarded complete and you have look at them along with the pictures that he sent to get an idea of what is what.
I did the receiver first and I followed the pictures. The very first thing I did was to level the table to the drill press. Then I taped the receiver with blue painters tape and set it in vice. What I did find a drill that fit the existing port and lowered the press to it to make sure that it was indeed level and 90 degrees to it. Once that was done I aligned the brass center with the port turned on the machine for a second to see if the brass left a concentric ring... so far so good. Tightened stuff down and placed the 12MM cutter in the press. This thing was difficult to set and finally I got it to spin straight by chucking it maybe only an inch and a half or less exposed.
You are to drill only .177 into the receiver for the port so I taped over the port (probably unnecessary), made a shim from bamboo of .177 and spun my stop down to it and then started cutting. Even with cutting oil, chatters worse than chipmunks but worked out ok. I then took the 8mm drill and drilled out the center. Following the same procedure I drilled out the receiver port leading to the breech. Cleaned up the airtube and put the gun back together.
If I have a one concern, it is that cocking effort is gargantuan. Well off to the Gassing of the gun.

Ok... everything seems tight and my chronograph is working fine except for the first shot where I got 1114 on a lo power setting... and I don't think this is a valid picture. Second and third shots were 767, 758 and 733 with a 129 grain conical.
Subsequently I got 796 and 805 and 768 at 180 bar.
With the JSB Diablo 81 grain pellets, I got 964. Then on Lo,952,945, and then Hi power at 180 bar for 950.
With a 70 grain roundball, 1011 fps, 994, to 949.7 at 150 bar.
AvG FPE for 129 grain conical was 171.
Avg FPE for the 81 grain Diablo was 163
Avg FPE for the roundball was 153.
Max Power 129 Conical = 185 FPE
Diable 81 grain = 167 FPE
Round Ball = 158 FPE
I was actually expecting closer to 200 FPE or a little more. The gun is difficult to cock into full power. I'm going to take it down again and drill out bottom of the transfer port with a bottom drill (flat) and open that area up a little more and polish the hammer area more.

Hehe.... it's exercising muscle groups I've not utilized in some time.. haha
By the way, for those of GTA that haven't looked into this kit, you should. That and the spanner wrenches of sonargodz's. There are a lot of nice things of Jeremy's kit that catch your... nothing but air between the poppet, I think its called, and the port and I'm convinced that if I can get this thing to line up, ANYONE can.

Went out and tried my 90 cu in buddy tank from Air Venturi and despite the fact that filling IT never seems to quite get to 4500 psi from another tank and the fact that it is limited to 2900 PSI, makes it ok for my Marauder beautifully, but not really optimum for my Recluse with its slightly higher now pressure capacity with the Africa Air Ordinance valve. So I took it to 220 bar and got roughly 20 fps increase and my string came out thisaway with the 81.2 grain pellet.
979
964
955
962
928
err
892
870
For a max FPE of 172 and an average of 157 FPE. My earlier averages were for the first three or four shots only... the 4 shot average today is 168 FPE.
I also put a round ball through the back of my Chronograph when I rushed a shot... the barrel is quite a bit lower than the front sight... and well .... it registered the shot so I'm thinking it's one them babooze moments...
